Join master percussionist Dendê for the next edition of this
introductory class in Afro-Brazilian percussion.
Classes will be held on Saturdays from 2-4 pm at Dendêzieros Studio in Germantown
October 11 – November 1, 2025
Attendees will learn to play timbal, caixa, surdo, repique, xequere, tamborim, pandeiro and much more with a former member of Timbalada! Dendê will teach you proper technique, exercises, tuning and maintenance, improvisations and soloing, traditional rhythms from candomblé and samba de roda as well as the original rhythms and breaks from bands like Timbalada, Ilê Aiyê, and Olodum.
Cost: $80 for the 4-week series or $25/class
