He\u2019s been a professional musician since the age of 14, when he appeared in the frontline of Timbalada, Carlinhos Brown\u2019s superstar percussion ensemble. Since 2001, he\u2019s been splitting his time between the US and Bahia, working with his own ensembles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mt-3 text-[#0A0A0A] variant-body-2\">His flagship group, Dend\u00ea &amp; Band reflects the cross-section of his deep roots in traditions like samba de roda and Candombl\u00e9 and his eclectic musical appetite for other global rhythms like rumba, afrobeat and mbalax.
