Workshops & Residencies in the Schools




Dendê has extensive experience teaching both adults and children of all ages. Students can learn a wide range of rhythms which include traditional Afro-Brazilian rhythms, popular rhythms from Afro-Brazilian percussion groups such as Timbalada, Olodum and Ile Aie as well as Dendê's own inventions. Workshops lead by him are available as semester-long residencies or as a one time workshop.
